The Crater Planning District Commission compiles data from a variety of sources and develops some of its own. Click the links below to access data and quick reference tables.
This page contains links to four page community demographic profiles in .PDF documents developed by the US Census Bureau from 2000 Census data. They contain information about population, race, housing, employment, and income. Profiles are available at the state, city, county, and incorporated town levels.
These community profiles, developed by the Virginia Economic Development Partnership, describe the demographic, employment, transportation, utility, governmental, tax, and educational landscape of jurisdictions within the Crater Region. These profiles also address quality of life and climate.
Planning Disrtrict Commission has contracted with Chmura Economics & Analytics to provide economic data and downloadable reports for the Crater region. Regional Profiles allow data access and summary reports with detailed analysis available for Charles City, Chesterfield, Dinwiddie, Greensville, Prince George, Surry and Sussex Counties and the Cities of Colonial Heights, Emporia, Hopewell, and Petersburg. Features include the ability to profile characteristics for employment, wages, and firms and download data for analysis and reporting. Please contact the Crater PDC's offices if you are interested in obtaining this data.
