The Crater Small Business Development Center, located in Petersburg, Virginia is one of four full time economic development offices of the Longwood Small Business Development Center program.

The Longwood SBDC is a partnership program with the U.S. Small Business Administration that provides assistance and training to help small business owners and potential owners make sound decisions for the successful operation of their business.

Part of a statewide network, the Longwood SBDC serves nineteen counties and five cities in South-Central Virginia. The Crater SBDC serves the Crater region comprising the counties of Dinwiddie, Prince George, Charles City, Surry, Sussex and the cities of Colonial Heights, Emporia, Hopewell and Petersburg.

Local Resources for Business Information at Longwood SBDC
If you are starting a new business, or expanding an existing one, there are several questions that may come to mind. These questions may include issues on business licensing, taxation, zoning, health regulations, etc.

The Crater SBDC offers individual, one-on-one, confidential counseling and sponsors seminars, conferences and courses at various locations in its service area.
